Your good common sense tells you that when a motorcycle wreck happens, it usually results in serious, disabling injuries or death. A friend of mine broke his neck, but he fortunately recovered. I had to put my “scooter” down, hit my head twice, and tore up my hands. Other client’s were not so lucky. People cannot see motorcycles. Most accidents happen when another car pulls out on them. The best way to avoid an accident is ride closer to the center lane when possible so people can see you. If it is four lane traffic, ride on the outside of a car since it would be more visible. Take a safety class or watch videos for other ideas. The Rules of the Road apply to motorcycles as well. Most of all, reduce speed to reduce the extent of injury. Remember, people do not “watch” for motorcycles.
